Stop-Loss Watcher
Pre-configured stop-loss watcher. Declare a threshold per position; when it is crossed, the watcher fires an alert with evidence — even if you are asleep.
Overview
The stop-loss watcher solves the most common failure mode in self-managed portfolios: not acting on a stop. Declare a threshold per position; the watcher monitors price data continuously and fires an alert with evidence when the level is crossed. Telumin Plus includes 10 stop-loss watchers; additional watchers are available on a credit-per-week basis. You decide what to do — Telumin never places orders.
What it does
Tick-driven monitoring
Streams market data per position. Computes trailing reference (post-entry high) and the live distance to stop on every update.
Deterministic firing
When the threshold is crossed, the watcher fires immediately — no hesitation, no second-guessing. Resume-on-crash guarantees the alert goes.
Diary-aware exits
If a Skeptic-cleared signal earlier the same day already broke a Day-1 condition, the engine tightens the stop automatically rather than waiting for the original threshold.
Audit trail
Every alert writes to the Evidence Vault: trigger price, reference level, the tape sample around the trigger, and the alert timestamp.
Example workflow runs
Alert fired at 14:33:21 EST. Watcher crossed the -8% trailing threshold from the post-entry high. Alert delivered to dashboard and action queue. Evidence Vault retains the tape sample. You decide the next step.
Earnings Distillation produced a DRIFT signal earlier the same day (Day-1 condition ‘FCF margin expanding’ at risk). Trailing Stop workflow recomputed reference and tightened threshold. Operator notified; thesis remains tradeable but downside is bounded.
CEO directly contradicted the break-condition tied to a thesis-break watcher. Alert fired regardless of price level. Reason logged: break-condition violated. Diary entry annotated automatically. Action queue surfaced in the dashboard.
Recommended configuration
Designed for
Operator use cases
- — Engineer-investors who can’t (or shouldn’t) babysit tape during the day
- — Anyone running concentrated positions who needs an alert before the move is over
- — Analyst desks implementing consistent stop discipline across a portfolio
- — Investors who have missed stops before and want an unambiguous external alert
Deploy this template
Add a position, declare a stop threshold, and the watcher fires an alert when it is crossed.
